Hankley Common Golf Club, not far from Farnham and Guildford, began life as a nine-hole course in 1897. James Braid improved the course to its full compliment in 1922 and, since those days, it has never looked back.
One particular fan of the course was Bobby Locke, the former champion saying the course had all the beauty of a seaside links while Charles Lawrie, one of the great golf course architects, said it was one of the finest inland venues in British golf. High praise, indeed.
The course enjoys a beautiful location and resides on 'Site of Specific Scientific Interest'.
