About the Destination

Queensland Location Map

The Sunshine Coast can be found in the North East Australian State of Queensland. The Sunshine Coast begins at Caloundra, just one hours drive north of Brisbane and extends to Cooloola, the gateway to World Heritage Listed Fraser Island.

Featuring tranquil hinterland (including the Glass House Mountains, Blackall Range, Noosa Hinterland and the Mary Valley) as well as over 100 kilometres of beaches. The Sunshine Coast is one of Australia’s most popular holiday spots and offers everything from quiet relaxation to action and adventure activities.

Located one hour north of Brisbane. Offering great golf, fantastic beaches and warm weather all year round. Club Pelican, Noosa Springs, Novotel Twin Waters and Hyatt Regency Coolum are the four flagship resort courses in this fast-growing region.

Twin Waters Resort, was designed by five times British Open champion Peter Thomson and partner Mike Wolveridge. The 18 hole, par 72 championship course is ranked in the Top 100 courses in Australia. The stunning setting and challenging layout is nestled amidst the tranquil bushlands of the Sunshine Coast.

Club Pelican, was exclusively designed by Greg Norman and Bob Harrison in 2000. This 18 hole championship course boasts impeccably manicured bunkers, greens and fairways, and a world class driving range and short game practice facility, it guarantees golfers of all levels a truly exhilarating and memorable experience.

Home to the Australian PGA, The Hyatt Regency Coolum was designed by Robert Trent Jones Jnr, and represents one of Trent Jones Jnr’s most subtle designs. Unlike other Trent Jones courses you won’t find any of the huge undulation or the trademark double and triple tiered greens. The course is a subtle challenge rather than an intimidating brute. The designer himself described the course at Coolum in a similar vein saying 'This course is not designed to punish champions, just to find out who they are.'

Noosa Springs offers a challenging 18-hole golf course that is open to green fee players. Located 90 minutes drive from Brisbane airport, Noosa Springs is the only championship golf course found in the heart of Noosa. With Lake Weyba and the Noosa National Park forming part of the backdrop, the course is spectacular.

With undulating fairways that wind its way around the saltwater lakes and melaleucas to the generous greens players are sure to enjoy a round of golf or more at this memorable golf destination.

Other things to do on the Sunshine Coast
